Let's Plan Your True Wild

Booking an African safari can be overwhelming, is expensive, and sometimes a once-in-a-lifetime trip - so best get it right. We help you through the process by meeting with you to hear what you’re hoping for and what your particular interests are. From there we’ll handcraft a safari specific to you, fitting your budget while meeting our high standards  providing you with a quality experience. We will handle your accommodation, activities and transfers between international airports and camps. We offer the services of a professional tour leader to join you, adding value particularly to group safaris.

How to get started

We want your safari to leave an indelible impression on you. To impact your life. To connect you more deeply to wild places wherever you find them.

We know that booking a safari can be overwhelming, which is where we come in. With our intimate knowledge of the areas, changes through the seasons, safari camps and specific wildlife, we simplify your choices and offer a smooth process that gives you the support you need all along the way.

A phone call or video meeting is often the best way to start the safari planning process. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, an in-person meeting over a cup of coffee or glass of wine is an even better way to connect to discuss your trip.

Once we have some key information, such as travel date restrictions, areas of interest, things you want to see or experience, safari duration and budget, we can start the planning process.

Our focus is on crafting an itinerary that works as a whole, building on each experience, giving you diversity in wildlife sightings, landscape and activities, deepening and enhancing your understanding and appreciation of the incredible wilderness that you will find yourself in.

We usually create a couple of initial itinerary options for you to peruse, along with the opportunity to discuss the merits of each, at the same time establishing the suitability for your ideal trip. Changes are often made to perfect this, ensuring you get just the right trip.

Once you have settled on an itinerary, paperwork will be shared for review and signing off on. A non-refundable deposit of 30% will confirm the booking with the outstanding amount being due 80 days prior to travel. We typically take care of all the safari-related bookings ensuring all your accommodation, activities and transfers are sorted from arrival in your safari destination till you leave. We also have an excellent "Air Desk" partner who specializes in international air travel for safari travelers who can help you with plans to get to your safari destination.

To prepare you to get the most out of your safari, we offer a pre-trip gathering or zoom meeting that provides you with both practical advice and the broader context to your upcoming safari experience. We also set up a communication platform so that you can easily communicate with us before and during your trip if needed.

We have a fascinating selection of group leaders. We will recommend one based on your interests to lead your trip while sharing much of their own special interests and expertise. All are experts in their field - ornithologists, biologists, wildlife photographers, environmental educators, authors, naturalists.
