Our Team
True Wild Safaris (True Wild LLC) was formed by South African conservationist couple, Dr. Quinton Martins and Liz Martins. Quinton is an experienced safari guide and big cat researcher who is also currently the Director of True Wild Conservation and the Principal Investigator of the Living with Lions mountain lion project in California, while Liz, with her strong education background, conducts the outreach and education component of the mountain lion project. Prior to moving to California in 2015, Quinton and Liz ran The Cape Leopard Trust (CLT), an organisation Quinton founded in 2004 to protect leopards. He completed his PhD on the Cape mountain leopards, and the CLT is still running strong today. Their daughter, Ayla, has grown up in wild places and has joined her parents on many safaris. She has a keen eye for detail, often providing valuable input on camps.
